Eight Jamaican Alumni teams to clash at the True Blue/Dennis Ziadie Over-40 Soccer Tournament – March 22nd, 2014 – Miramar, Florida


Today the True Blue Weekend planning committee revealed the eight Jamaican Alumni teams playing in the True Blue/Dennis Ziadie Over-40 Soccer Tournament on March 22nd, 2014 in Miramar, Florida, The 8 Teams are: Calabar , Excelsior , Kingston College , Kingston Technical High , Manchester High School , Wolmer’s , St. George’s College and Jamaica College.

 

The soccer tournament is a part of True Blue Weekend 2014 and is sponsored by the following companies: The Law Offices of Dahlia A. Walker, P.A., Faurit Links Towing & Transportation, Grace Kennedy Remittance Services Limited/Western Union, Dr. Smiths Orthodontic Services Inc., Jamaica National Building, Caribbean Ocean Logistics, Goldson Spine  Rehabilitation Center and  Accurate  Air Conditioning.

The True Blue weekend is an expansion from the annual Ziadie Cup soccer match between The St. George’s College Old Boys Association of Florida, Inc. and The Jamaica College Old Boys Association of Florida, Inc.   The annual match is in memory of Dennis Ziadie, who coached both schools to Manning Cup victories. This year will mark the 26th year of the death of Dennis Ziadie in a car crash in Mexico at the 1986 World Cup.  Last year’s match drew over 1500 spectators and supporters.

First Fridays of Florida, LLC. in association with Caribcast TV will provide an Entertainment Zone at the 10th Annual Dennis Ziadie Cup and True Blue Weekend on March 21st – 23rd, 2014.  Patrons can enjoy music from First Fridays resident DJ Radciffe or view LIVE Caribbean TV courtesy of Caribcast, while taking part in the festivities at the Dennis Ziadie Cup match and Soccerfest.
