Jamaica College defeats St. George’s College to win the 2018 Ziadie Cup; Anchovy High and Manchester High wins the JN Bank All Schools Alumnae Penalty Kick-off

On Saturday, April 7th, 2018,  the Jamaica College Old Boys defeated the St. George’s College Old Boys to win the 14th annual Dennis Ziadie Cup.  The St. George’s College over-45 team beat the Jamaica College over-45 team  3-1 in the Grand Masters match. In the Under-45 Masters match, Jamaica College defeated St. George’s College 6-2. The Dennis Ziadie Cup trophy was awarded to Jamaica College based on an aggregate score of both matches with 7-5.

Anchovy High School defeated Merl Grove High School to emerge as the winner in the 2018 JN Bank All Schools Alumnae Penalty Kick-off. The competition was fierce taking 4 rounds to determine a winner.

In the 2018  Boys Schools, Alumnae Penalty Kick-off  Manchester High emerged as the winner beating Vere Tech. JN Bank will make a $100 cash donation to the first place schools and a $50 cash donation to the second place schools.

Kids and adults participated in sack races, three-legged races and, Spoon/egg races. The races were organized by radio personality Leo Gilling and the Jamaican Diaspora Education Task Force.

Old classmates from Jamaican high schools were able to reunite and enjoy the fun-filled  2-day True Blue Weekend of events. The festivities included a Kick-off Party at Grand Cafe in Pembroke Pines and the annual Ziadie Cup held at the state-of-the-art soccer facility at Vizcaya Park. It was a weekend of fun, friends, food and exciting soccer matches.
